Tom Sutter - Toggenburg Dynamite

Biography

Tom Sutter is a musician from Toggenburg (Switzerland) born in 1973.
He discovered his love for music and the guitar in the 80's and this fire of passion has been a pillar of his life since those days.
Musical influences can be found in rock, hard rock, funk rock, country, and bluegrass as well as bands like: Aerosmith, U2, Depeche Mode, Poison, Motley Crew, Rage against the Machine, Talk Talk, Queen, Genesis, Phil Collins, Extreme, Guns` n Roses, The Cure to name a few.

Tom has worked with many musicians in his musical "doing and creating" and has played in various bands and formations. For many years mainly cover songs, whereby the desire to write his own songs has grown and has shaped his life for almost 10 years now. In addition to his full-time job as a senior service technician, he works on the development of his songs every day. As a songwriter and guitarist with backing vocals, he released his first CD in 2017 with his former band «SWISSMAYD». Some of these songs have made it onto the radio in Switzerland and international. This milestone in his life was crowned in autumn 2018 with a European tour as an opening act with the Swedish rock bands "The Poodles" and "Degreed". The band broke up in 2020 after insurmountable problems among the members.

These experiences left Tom with very deep wounds and scars. As a result, he decided never to enter into “dependency relationships” or compromises again. He began writing new songs and initially playing them acoustically, including developing his own voice. In 2021 he released two songs “Light For Others” and “Love For Real” and shot videos for them on his own initiative.
All instruments (except drums) including the vocals were recorded by him himself.
In the summer of 2023 he released his debut album “New Child” with a total of 7 songs on the disc.

In 2022, Tom brought his old musician friend “Jack Frei” on board, who thrilled viewers and listeners with his extraordinary Dobro playing and also recorded his Dobro parts on some of the songs on the EP. The band was later completed with the addition of drummer Chrischi Dobler and, since the end of 2023, Simon Stocker on bass.
