Sun Dera

Biography

Born in the heat of Guadalajara, Mexico, and initially formed by its creative energy, Sun Dera took on shape amongst the mountains of Graubünden. Now living in the small town of Baden in northern Switzerland and being strongly influenced by different music genres, the sound he delivers combines a WAVE/POST-PUNK atmosphere with bright MATH-ROCK/POST-ROCK ambients and structures. This independent one-man project draws nostalgia with melodic landscapes and invites to dance and let go.

It all starts with "Midnight Hearts" the first release of this self produced journey.
His second single, entitled "Honey Stone", features Lisa Papineau, member of Big Sir, who has also worked with artists such as Air, M83 and Omar Rodríguez-López.
The first EP "Jardines" is a tribute to his old neighborhood and the streets where he grew up. It is more focused on the Math-Rock side of the project, while the latest single "Universal Heartache" remains less complicated and shows a stronger Lo-Fi Post-Punk vibe
