Bye bye Mainstreamraster: Paul Palud hops out of the pattern. He combines polished, but also spontaneously conceived lyricism, with melodies that get under your skin. Now and then he breaks out into improvisation on the piano with "occasional kitsch". It doesn't always have to be virtuosic with a lot of movement, simple and consistent can also be touching in his opinion.
With his first single "Monadir", he shows how intimate and vulnerable his music can be. But there is also room for protest and criticism of current affairs, packaged in bitterly ironic to macabre wordplay. Paul Palud's "Mukke" drifts somewhere between catchy tune and melancholic whirlwind.
