Biography

ORTRA is the electronic solo project of producer and dj Timo Strohm. ortra seeks to create lulling atmospheres, taking you on a small journey with each and every piece. a driving element throughout the music is ORTRA's affection for syncopated beats, groovy rhythmic explorations and low bass elements, inspired by UK funky and breakbeat. personal field samples, quirky sounds, textures and spacey synths harmonies are weaved in there, creating this dreamlike feeling complemented by rave aestethic elements. from time to time, ortra's music is underlined with introspective lyrics adding further personal touch to these micro universes.
