Biography

Maq 22 is a vocalist based in Zürich Switzerland.
He records himself with his home setup and makes you dive into his world of intoxicating and dreamy imagination.
With his laid-back singing and rapping on blissful and melancholic beats, topped off with a cold and clean vocal mix, he gives the listener an icy and spaced out feeling, which has become his signature sound.
He touches on subjects like existentialism and talks about his personal life with a lot of metaphors, that are not always graspable after the first listen.
Nevertheless, he also has songs where he brings out joy and excitement in the listener with catchy hooks on uptempo beats.
As he is a bit of a perfectionist, it's highly important to him to make sure everything is executed as he and his collaborators had imagined it.
The visual and aesthetic side of „Maq 22“ is created by designer Julian Eigenmann, head of the collective „Sektion Àmok“ of which Maq is also a part of.
