Biography
Manu Hartmann is nominated for the Swiss Blues Award 2024 for the second time!
Manu Hartmann is already a force to be reckoned with in the Swiss music scene. In 2018, the charismatic singer wins the Swiss Blues Challenge with her band. Six months later, they become the first large Swiss band to reach the semi-finals of the International Blues Challenge in Memphis, USA. In the Azores they play in the finals of the EBC. In 2020 their first studio album "Bad Girl" is released and Manu Hartmann is nominated for the first time for the Swiss Blues Award 2020.
On October 27, 2023, her latest studio album "There's Something Wrong" is released, produced by Marco Jencarelli (Philipp Fankhauser; Lilly Martin, among others).
The headstrong musician is known for her progressive blues. She has no fear of contact with other styles. Soul, funk and pop elements are an important part of Manu Hartmann's self-proclaimed "Modern Blues 3.0". This can be clearly heard on the current album "There's Something Wrong". The eleven songs, nine of them from her own pen, testify to a versatile artist who does not submit to the "blues police".
