Biography
Kleid is post-punk, -rock, -grunge and a bit of chamber, sometimes fragile, mostly impetuous, always melancholic. With uninhibited lyrics, wild guitars, warm synths, sonorous clarinet, moving bass lines and circular drums, the band moves through a catalog of idiosyncratic, expressive music.
The band was founded in late 2019 by Eastern Swiss songwriter Matt Ilda (Mattia Scheiwiller), and has since released two singles. After a break, Kleid reformed in the summer of 2022, honing their sound and rehearsing new songs. With a group full of multi-instrumentalists and more sonic diversity than ever, the band skillfully plays through their fresh, varied songs. Whether intimate stories or distorted instrumentals, noise improvisations or precise arrangements, loud melodious sounds or gentle dissonances - Kleid doesn't shy away from contradictions.
