Biography
I am an organist and choirmaster (I studied with Janine Lehmann at the Conservatory of Zurich), with Marie-Claire Alain and Klaus Knall.
In my 39-year career I have taught in all kinds of schools (from kindergarten to university).
I am Adjunct Professor at the DFA of SUPSI (now retired) where I was responsible for the musical and pedagogical training of future teachers (SI, SE, SMe and Liceo). In 2012, in collaboration with Anna Galassetti, I won the "Credit Suisse Award for Best Teaching".
From 1990 to 2020 I was cantonal expert for the Municipal Schools and editor (together with Matteo Piricò) of the new curriculum for compulsory schools.
As a performer I am active as an organist and choir director (I conducted the Vos da Locarno from 1994 to 2010 and currently the Ensemble Controcanto).
I have developed experience in jazz-rock (Brainstorm) and rock (Shakary, Mario Del Don Rock Menu and Nightbirds).
As a theatre musician I have worked with Dimitri, Alessandro Marchetti, Miguel Angel Cienfuegos, David Zurbuchen and, as part of concerts for schools, with Oliviero Giovannoni, Michele Fedrigotti, Nancy Fürst and Emmanuel Pouilly, Hannes Schmidhauser and Ares Tavolazzi.
Collaborations with the OSI and Chistoph-Mathias Müller, with Vincenzo Zitello, Carlo Bava, Bepi De Marzi, Claudio Rossi, Nando Citarella, Lucilla Galeazzi, Arjen Lucassen and Noel McCalla.
As an organiser, I have been responsible for the musical programme of the Elisarion Cultural Centre for several years and am co-artistic director (together with Andrea Pedrazzini) of the concert season of the Amici dell'organo in Locarno.
I write songs for children and compose music for films ("No problem Pelagic", "L'anno nero del Serpente").
