Biography

GiGi Polar picks up where artists from the "SoundCloud era" left off – and goes even further. Expressing his feelings in the realms of alternative hip hop and melodic trap, his sound fits in with artists like Yung Lean, Lil Tracy, Corbin, XXXTentacion and Lil Uzi Vert.
Being a biracial cosmopolitan his vulnerable lyricism deals with introspective themes such as relationship issues, self-discovery and his determination to music. This includes feeling out of place and indifferent at times. Through his atmospheric self- productions, innovative flows and catchy melodic vocal style, the versatile artist creates a unique sound.
The young artist has gained success in the Swiss hip-hop scene, landing major placements on radios, magazines and playing Swiss festivals like the BScene and the JKF. Radios include Switzerland’s biggest hip-hop radio station SRF Virus, Energy and Radio Basilisk. The Swiss hip-hop platform LYRICS, and after a collaboration with Quality Control-managed artist Mark Battles, the UK magazine Wordplay has written articles about his intriguing sound.
