David Holler

Biographie

Since 2004 David Holler (USA) has co-written over 40 songs for major labels Universal Music, EMI Capitol and for artists such as Anna Rossinelli, Reto Burrell, Mr Da-Nos, Hillbilly Moon Explosion, Roman Camenzind, DJ Bobo, Kandlbauer, Chris Von Rohr and others. Notably, he co-wrote 'Voice of Freedom' with Grammy Award winner Angélique Kidjo.

With Anna Rossinelli's 2011 release of 'Bon Voyage,' it marked the 8th time David has had co-writing credits on a top 10 release in Switzerland.

His his father and co-writer, Dick Holler, has written songs performed by Bob Dylan, Whitney Houston, Ray Charles, Marvin Gaye, Bon Jovi, Cher, The Bellamy Brothers, Smokey Robinson, Cliff Richard, Wilson Pickett, Petula Clarke, Andy Williams, Sammy Davis Jr. and Tori Amos. Having collectively sold more than 35 million records, David’s father was inducted into the Louisiana Rock n' Roll Hall of Fame in 2007.

David's style is singer-songwriter, contemporary Top 40, radio-friendly pop songs with an emphasis on piano and vocals. His influences range from vintage-Elton John, Billy Joel, Beatles to David Gates and Bread. Having grown up in a songwriting family, David has always been fascinated with the craft and the history of the ever-elusive three-minute song.

2012 marked the release of David's first single on iTunes 'Odeon.' The song celebrates the 100-year history of Zurich's legendary Cafe Bar Odeon. Its list of past patrons is impressive: James Joyce, Hermann Hesse, Albert Einstein, Max Frisch, Mata Hari, Bertolt Brecht, Dadaists, Mussolini, Puccini, Vladimir Lenin, Marc Chagall, Hugo Ball, Tristan Tzara, the Avant-garde, Bohemians and vagabonds etc. Written, produced and performed by David Holler, the song’s video can also be seen on YouTube.
