Past and present converge in the songs created by the Mexican composer and performer Dan Vera who, through the use of modern instruments and replicas of ancient instruments, creates an interesting ritual in his concerts, a unique mix of textures and influences that invite the votive. too. as an inspiring dance. deep peace and connection with the cosmic roots as a way of "asking permission" to the directions of the universe, a way of harmonizing the human being with nature.
Dan Vera presented us in 2012 his first album "In Cuikatl El Canto" cantos nahuas neomexika and in October 2021 he offers us his second album "Fuego Nuevo".
On both albums he has set music to the texts of the recording and translation work of the most important researcher of the thought and literature of the Nahuatl culture in the 20th century, Miguel León Portilla, who informs us of his songs and offers us legends and traditions that unveil. the worldview of the Nahua people merges with their current thinking of the contemporary Mexican.
Preserving "our old" would be in this reinterpretation, updating it.
This show is not expensive, it is new, fine and delicate. It can be presented in different contexts, such as: book fairs, stage dance cycles, music festivals, art exhibitions, various exhibitions, ... we will evaluate any other proposal with great interest.
