Biography

Stepping out of my comfort zone with the help of music, how exciting !
I’m a singer, songwriter, improviser and my voice has been described as “gingerbread like, jazzy, funky, with a twist of oriental and afro flavor”.
I developed my style of singing thanks to my travels and encounters.

I consider myself as an international artist and love to be on stage and share my passion with musicians and the public.
I love to improv, especially exploring rhythm with my voice.

I performed in Switzerland, (Montreux Jazz Festival 2005), the US, where I spent 6 years while studying at Berklee College of music (Berklee, Boston Special Olympics 1994), in France (Cognac Blues Passion 2008), in Senegal, Burkina Faso (Jazz à Ouaga Festival 2009) and Mali (Jazzy Koum Ben Festival 2009).

Lately I recorded “Babel”, with French drummer Dawoud Bounabi , a vocals & drums jazz album, in Belgium label and recording studio Homerecords.be .

Before that I released Terra, a 12 French songs album.
This album highlights my multicultural background and was signed by Belgian label Homerecords.be.

The video « Terra , the making of an album «  was directed by Belgian artist Erno Le Mentholé in Moroccan Berber land.

I am looking forward to the release of “Babel”, eager to share this new groovy poetic contemporary jazz creation where Dawoud and I really went out of our comfort zone.

To her, all things intermingle in music and genre does't matter.

Born in Geneva, Switzerland, she became as « international » as that city, wanting to spread her wings and meet people who have the same need of undertaking authentic projects.

While studying at Berklee, Claudia spent six intense years in Boston,
feeding off music like an apprentice, preparing herself for a tough life, yet
punctuated by moments of pure joy.
She kept these teachings in her heart, like a talisman.

Claudia writes as well in French as in English and is very careful about lyrics.

As a composer, she is always aiming for elegant chord progressions.

Considering every new opportunity as a challenge, she has been part of numerous projects, adding her creativity while favouring communication between musicians.
