Biography

If art decorates space, then music decorates time.

Yero is a multi-instrumentalist, singer and producer born in Helsinki Finland. As a nineties kid in he grew up in melting-pot of influences provided by dawn of internet and the fast globalisation of popular culture in the West. He was born into an academic family but started with classical guitar at 5 due to his own insisting. In his teens he moved to pop and rock guitar. He graduated from Sibelius High School in Helsinki, and the same summer, witnessed D’angelo perform live in Pori Jazz. He was greatly influenced with the richness of rhythm and his vocal performance. He became a fan and this important discovery guided the ambitions of his music music. He was accepted to complete his obligatory military service in the music corps of Finnish Defence Forces. He was raised to Lance Corporal for his work as a vocal arranger for shows and tours during his military service. Afterwards he moved to Basel to study guitar at the Jazzcampus Basel. He has since graduated Production Performance Masters at Jazzcampus Basel and Pedagogical Masters from ZHdK Zurich. Yero has worked on a range of music styles as a performer, producer and storyteller, and has now first time realised the fusion of those elements into an experience, that's one of it's own kind.
