LIKE A MUSTARD SEED
It‘s not as if there had not been a line,
A wall of stones, so clearly laid,
And yet it clung on and grew relentlessly
It‘s not as if there had not been a line
What does it taste like,
The taste of memory?
What does it taste like,
The taste of sweeping hope
Like a mustard seed
So bittersweet and all engulfing
Slowly pushing through the stones
Like a mustard seed
So spicy, hot and dangerous
Holding on to everything you‘ve got
It‘s not as if the wall could go
It‘s been for years, it‘s built on solid ground
To keep us ever apart
It‘s not as if the wall of stones could go
What does it smell like, The smell of regret?
What does it smell like, The smell of smoky grief
Like a mustard seed
So bittersweet and all engulfing
Slowly pushing through the stones
Like a mustard seed
So spicy, hot and dangerous
Holding on to everything you‘ve got
It‘s not as if the mustard tree could go,
Its roots dig deep, it can‘t be stopped
From stretching flowers in its bloom
It‘s not as if the mustard tree could go
What does it look like,
The look of yellow dreams?
What does it look like,
The look of rooted faith?
Only time will tell what ever lasts
The wall of reason, built so strong
Or yet this love
That grows and grows and can‘t be stopped
Like a mustard seed
So bittersweet and all engulfing
Slowly pushing through the stones
Like a mustard seed
So spicy, hot and dangerous
Holding on to everything you‘ve got
Like a Mustard Seed
