Biography

RAK is a Swiss-based collective of lateral thinking musicians gathered around the keyboard player & composer Marc (RAK) Grassi.
Their first self-produced album Lepidoptera and its related live performances recieved amazing feedback.

Marc (RAK) Grassi on keys masters the classic elements of Prog in its Grand Era.... from Genesis & Yes through to Gentle Giant.
Mike Liechti on drums wields mountainous Swiss thunder and the rhythmic complexities of modern/alt.prog in the vein of Tool or Planet X.
Stefan Gabele on guitars fuses a heart of Blues with Prog Metal tones & techniques similiar to bands like Symphony X.
Dave (Zoz) Thwaites on vocals summons a melodic atmosphere, intensity & melancholia influenced by such as Floyd, Marillion & Radiohead.

New Album: Book of Flight
RAKs' new album, Book of Flight, is the conceptual child of its predecessor Lepidoptera and is a modern, intelligent and atmospheric take on Progressive Rock that is receptive to varied new influences yet remains true to its roots.
Harmonic and rythmically rich songwriting melds driving grooves with audacious breaks... brute force events shatter into soothing, balladesque passages, the music always supporting the captivating vocal melodies and the drive of the fascinating lyrical arc.
Despite it's complexity, the Book of Flight retains a sparkling clarity and powerful emotional connectivity with the listener.
